Die Arbeit bespielt drei Standorte innerhalb des Erweiterungsbaus – Foyer, Bibliothek und Leselounge – und korrespondiert mit den durch das architektonische Prinzip gegebenen Blickachsen. Die inhaltlichen Bezugspunkte basieren auf Fragestellungen, die sich auf die (ambivalente) Wahrnehmung fremder Kultur, die besondere Bedeutung des Lehrens und Lernens im Judentum mit Blick auf Fürths Historie als Ort jüdischer Gelehrsamkeit und auf das Selbstverständnis des Museums als Ort der Forschung und des offenen Dialogs beziehen.
// Invited competition Art in Architecture 1st Prize/ letters spackled on plaster/ The work occupies three locations within the extension building - foyer, library and reading lounge - and corresponds with the visual axes given by the architectural principle. The thematic reference points are based on questions relating to the (ambivalent) perception of foreign culture, the special significance of teaching and learning in Judaism with regard to Fürth's history as a place of Jewish scholarship, and the museum's self-conception as a place of research and open dialogue.
